Nan Carder, FPSA, GMPSA, EFIAP/b·, is a retired Registered Nurse (RN). She joined the Photographic Society of America (PSA) in 2008 and earned the following distinctions: PPSA (2011), EPSA (2013), MPSA (2015), MPSA2 (2019), GMPSA (2020); and was elected for honors APSA (2015) and FPSA (2019).
She has served as the PSA Club Representative for the Lancaster Photography Association since 2010 and received the PSA Club Representative of the Year (for large clubs) in 2011. Nan has served on the Southern California Council of Camera Clubs (S4C) Board as Secretary twice and has served as Competition Chair in the following different areas: Interclub, Nature, Photojournalism, and PhotoTravel, since 2010.
She served on the PSA Board of Directors since from 2011 to 2021 as PSA's Chapters, Clubs. and Councils Vice President and PSA Secretary and also served on the Executive Committee, She received the President's Award in 2016. She served on the Photographic Alliance of America (PAA) on the Executive Committee; and she now serves on the PAA as a Board of Director.
Nan competes in PSA-recognized International Exhibitions and has received the PSA Small Mono Print of the Year in 2015 and the Photo-Travel Image of the Year in 2016. She has been listed in Who's Who yearly since 2010. She was the Who's Who Top Exhibitor in the world in Small Color Prints in 2016 and Photojournalism Prints in 2020. She has been listed in the Top Exhibitors Box multiple times in Small Color and Monochrome Prints, and Photojournalism.
She received the PSA Service Award in 2021 for her service on the PSA Board. Nan has judged the Projected Image Division (Color and Monochrome), Nature Division, Photojournalism Division, Small Color Print and Small Monochrome Print exhibitions in PSA-recognized International Exhibitions and is one of the PSA Portfolio Assessors. She enjoys all aspects of photography.
