I
spent 38 wonderful years in a career of education as a teacher, reading specialist, principal, new teacher supervisor and university Instructor. In addition, I was my husband's photographer assistant for 30 years. Upon retirement, I found time to
return full-time to my passion of art and photography.
I have been involved with Professional Photographers of California (PPC) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA) since 2005. I received PPC judge's training in 2012 and renewal
training in 2015. In 2012, I joined PSA and completed the PSA judging program in 2013. In 2012 I became involved with PSA-recognized International Exhibitions and PSA Study Groups.
Currently, I am involved as Group Leader/Secretary and
member in three PSA fine art and general photography critique Study Groups. I coordinate the interclub competition for my home club, Pasadena Photochromers, which is in the Southern California Council of Camera Clubs (S4C). In 2015 I judged an S4C
monthly competition and the S4C International Exhibition. In 2015 I earned the S4C Associate honor. Currently I am working toward ROPA distinction and have been successful in receiving several PSA medals along the way.
I have had extensive
professional training in photography and Photoshop through PPA and PPC. I respect the value of capturing a great image in the camera, but feel my photographs are just the first stage in the creative process. I enjoy the creative aspects of the digital
darkroom and apply various filters, textures and treatments to transform them into my personal vision, creating fine art photography.
