Lillian Roberts started taking pictures to illustrate magazine articles she wrote in the late 1990's, and her interest in photography quickly overtook her writing. By 2001, she had joined the Coachella Valley Desert Camera Club and become an avid competitor at club level. Within a few years, she was winning medals in PSA international exhibitions with her slides (remember those?). Her main interest is Nature and Wildlife Photography, but she also dabbles in Travel and has begun experimenting in Monochrome.

Lillian has served as Competition Chair and President of the Coachella Valley Desert Camera Club (CVDCC), and as Nature Chair for the Southern California Council for Camera Clubs (S4C) for several years.She has been awarded a DFS4C in S4C, and the CVDCC in 2019 named her an Honorary Lifetime Member. In 2020 she rekindled her passion for international competition, and quickly earned her PPSA. She plans to become more active in PSA itself going forward. In her "spare time" she is a veterinarian in Palm Desert, CA. She earned her EPSA in 2021, MPSA in 2022, GMPSA in 2023, and GMPSA/B in 2024. She was awarded APSA in 2023.
