Two-year complimentary digital memberships to students enrolled in Middle School, High School and College worldwide.

We are dedicated to the education and promotion of photography and will provide memberships as long as you are enrolled in school with a valid student ID.

Instructions

- Click the "Join Now" button.
- Read the Privacy Policy and check the box to agree.
- Create a username for logging into the system.
- Enter your First Name and Last Name as shown on your school ID.
- Accept the free membership option and continue.
- Complete the form and click Submit.
- A PSA representative will review your application. Once approved, you'll be able to log in as a member.

Youth Showcase

The PSA Youth Showcase is a photographic competition hosted by PSA chapters, clubs, councils or federations to promote and provide photographic education among young people. The Youth Showcase is open to all students, ages 14 - 18, who are attending high school or its equivalent worldwide. 

- A $300 award is sent to the photographer whose image is selected “Best of Show” from the six first-place images in both the print section and the projected.
- A $150 award is sent to the other five first-place photographers.
- A $75 award is sent to the six second-place photographers.
- A $50 award is sent to the six third-place photographers.
- A $25 award is sent to the three honorable mention.

All award recipients will be given a PSA Digital membership, which includes receiving the monthly PSA JOURNAL online.

All PSA Chapters, PSA member camera clubs, and PSA member councils and federations are encouraged to serve as sponsors for the Youth Showcase. There are no limits on the number of high schools that may be sponsored by a PSA organization, but two participating PSA groups cannot sponsor separate entries from the same high school.

✉ Youth Showcase Director

The sponsoring organization identifies an individual to serve as the sponsor representative who works with the teacher. The representative will be responsible for submitting the entries from a school. The sponsor representative must submit a Sponsor Representative Certification form listing the participating schools.   • Entries from each high school are limited to sixteen images, eight prints and eight projected images in six categories.
  • There are no entry fees.
  • All entries from high school age students shall be submitted by the PSA sponsor representative.
  • A student may have no more than two prints and two projected entries.
  • Any image containing a recognizable person must have a model release form unless it is photojournalism.
  • All projected images and prints must be taken by the student (no stock or clip art).
  • An entrant’s submissions must be from only one school.
  • Each image must have a title (max 25 chars, no special characters).

Student Entry Form must be completed for each student. Parent/guardian signature required if under 18.

  • Longest dimension should be 2100px, max 4MB.
  • Format must be JPG (quality 10–12).
  • Save in sRGB color space.
  • Submitted by Sponsor Representatives via PSA website by midnight.
  • All relevant forms must be completed and uploaded.

  • Print size 5"x7" to 8.5"x11", un-mounted.
  • Forms must be uploaded via entry link.
  • Print labels generated for each form.
  • Labels must be attached with arrow pointing up.
  • Prints given to Sponsor Representatives for delivery.

There are two sections: prints and projected images, each with six categories:
  1. ARCH - Architecture
  2. PORA - People or Animals
  3. SCAP - Scapes
  4. PJOU - Photojournalism
  5. CCHOI - Color Photographer’s Choice
  6. MCHOI - Monochrome Photographer’s Choice
  • “Best of Show” plaque + $300 award
  • $150 awards to other first-place category photographers
  • $75 for second-place, $50 for third-place
  • $25 for honorable mentions in Choice categories
  • All award recipients receive PSA Digital membership
  • Six first-place prints and projected images published in PSA Journal
  • Award images displayed on PSA website after festival
  • Exhibited in print hall and Youth Showcase video program
  • Students, teachers, sponsors receive certificates and brochure
In 1998, the first "Outstanding Photographs from the Young Photographers" exhibition was shown at the PSA Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida. Projected digital entries added in 2012.
